After graduating from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, I quite literally stumbled into the downtown performance art/cabaret world and everything shifted in both a personal and creative, professional way. I began performing durational pieces and acts in cabarets like Joe’s Pub, La MaMa, Pangea as well as at Lincoln Center. As part of a long lineage of queer performance artists, I was fortunate enough to be around, work with, and learn from some the greats like Penny Arcade, Justin Vivian Bond, Taylor Mac, Rumi Misabu, Ron Athey as well as Ryan McNamara, Wu Tsang, Enid Ellen, M. Lamar, Alexandro Segade. This work led to becoming a member of the experimental theatre company ‘Big Art Group’, with whom I performed at the Venice biennale in 2022 and co-founding the queer art space and club The Spectrum in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
